The Most Relaxing Way To Practice
1. Repeat one bar plus the first note of the next bar. Don't even worry about rhythm and take as much as time as you need to go from one note to the next. Just play them in the correct order out of time.
2. Gradually add rhythm as your hands get familiar. Pause in the middle if you have to and forgive yourself because you're still learning.
3. Try to play the bar with all of the correct rhythms, but go back to step 1 or 2 if you are ever guessing or stabbing at the instrument.
4. Do the same thing with every bar in the piece. Stitch two bars together, then four, then eight, then entire phrases, then pages, and then finally run the entire piece.
