Steps To Learn Any Song

1. Listen to the song and observe the sound, tempo, phrasing, dynamics, and character

2. Find the correct notes and play them in the right order while taking as much time as you need to find them

3. Gradually add rhythm, but take pauses if you need to and forgive yourself because you re still learning

4. Run the piece at tempo. If you are ever guessing at the right notes or rhythms, go back to step 2-3

5. Make it your own and adjust the dynamics, phrasing, articulation, mood, tempo, dynamic width, and balance between the limbs
